Artistic Statement

I have always created art. I was fortunate to have amazing high school art teachers in Ottawa, and in my chosen profession, I had principals who valued my artistic skills.

Achieving my degree at University of Victoria was the turning point in my art development. For four years, I received instruction from artist/teachers: Geoff Hodder a Printmaker, George Stegall who taught oil and watercolour, Walter Dexter a noted west coast potter to name a few. I had the time to grow and develop surrounded by good teaching expertise, and fourteen like-minded classmates.

I have taught oil, watercolour, stained glass, pottery and printmaking, drawing classes and created art in all those fields. My passion is oil painting, primarily trying to capture the landscape of this part of the Canadian Shield and Pinawa Dam Heritage Park.
