My name is Kayla Acres, and I’m a self-taught artist from Winnipeg, Manitoba and have been producing art in some variation since my childhood. After graduating from sciences in 2020 and entering the start of numerous long lockdowns, I used my added free-time to focus on my artwork and create numerous finished pieces. Throughout the process, I gained a great appreciation at expanding my colour palette and practicing new techniques which assisted in bringing life to my creations. Having refound my passion for art, I continued producing artwork after the lockdowns ended. Amongst my collection, there is a focus on acrylic painting landscapes. All these locations are based off of places I’ve been and are special to me. I also have much practice with animal portraits requested from friends, family and clients. Both of these styles reflect the attention to detail in my work. In recent times, I’ve begun experimenting with some digital art that tends to be a bit less detailed but more imaginative.

In addition to creating art, I have explored selling prints and originals at farmer’s markets and online and have also given some as donations to fundraisers and charities.
