I was born in Thunder Bay, Ontario. From a very early age, I drew people and animals and doodled all over my notebooks. It never occurred to me to pursue anything other than an art related career. Upon receiving a B.F.A. Honours degree and Teaching certificate from the University of Manitoba in 1976, I enjoyed teaching high school art in the Interlake and Winnipeg School Divisions until retirement in 2009. Presently I live in our studio home on Pinawa Channel with my husband Archie and cat Ralphey. If I hadn’t pursued a teaching career, I may have become a full time cartoonist or children’s book illustrator and have done both in some capacity.

Acrylics, watercolour and ink are my usual mediums but I also work in fibre and mixed media. Recently, I have also returned to writing. I don’t adhere to any particular genre. Subjects vary as well; nature, politics, daily events,  whimsy. I like to be surprised by the outcome and hope that viewers are as well.
