FOREST TO RIVER

Experience this artist led exploration of Mother Nature and your creative spirit!

Your guide, a local artist, will welcome you to the unique community of Pinawa. You’ll be guided on a trail walk and forage for art materials on the beautiful Ironwood, a section of the TransCanada Trail along the Winnipeg River, an important trade and travel route. Be inspired as the artist demonstrates artistic inspiration and practice, highlighting two historically important women artists, one from a colonial perspective and the other indigenous. Listen to stories of these two women and get a glimpse into what life was like as a female artist. Engage in the inspiration that artists discover in the Boreal Forest and the Winnipeg River. Savour a locally inspired lunch of wild rice buns, soup, wild harvested tea, and local jam. Let your creativity flow using your foraged materials to create a one-of-a-kind art piece that you get to take home.
